The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology has announced an upcoming show, Fashion & Technology slated for December 8, 2012. From the press release notes the exhibition will explore, “relationships with technology in fashion that has both expanded its aesthetic vocabulary and streamlined its means of production”.
Along with The Museum at FIT’s costume collection, the curation will showcase works from the Dutch label, Freedom of Creation in addition to fashion icons such as Elsa Schiaparelli, André Courrèges, Issey Miyake, and Nicholas Ghesquière for Balenciaga.
As 3D printing begins to impact this century’s designers such as Freedom of Creation, Fashion & Technology will survey the expansive technological advancements as early as the mid-eighteenth century. You can follow this link for additional information.
