Recently beta released desktop app, Seamless Studio, from the community based color inspiration site Color Lovers has been entertaining us!
We’ve already demonstrated how to create a seamless repeat that manually can sometimes be vexing if your selection isn’t pixel perfect. And there are Photoshop and Illustrator design repeat plug-ins and stand alone apps, but may require a hefty investment.
Seamless Studio is a fun intuitive program running on Adobe Air that can be a very effective pattern generator.
Loaded with pre-made shapes, you can also import SVG motifs created in apps such as Illustrator to be placed into Seamless Studio for repeat. Specify the canvas and repeat size, drag motifs from the Shapes pane and then manipulate the objects to be enlarged, reduced or rotated. Selecting a new shape or using the program’s line tool creates new layers that can be dragged into arrangement.
Overall Seamless Studio is familiar as your favorite graphic program and perfect for rapid prototyping. Check out our quick tut, download the free beta trial and take it for a spin! Follow this link for Seamless Studio online documentation.
Posted to the right is our finished design using a leaf shape created in Illustrator and imported into Seamless Studio.

A green & purple palette with that shape and you’d have the fabric we used to cover chairs at my wedding reception! :)
Nice work! Thanks for sharing the love.
We’re happy to have triggered an important visual cue/memory! Thanks for checking us out and look forward to final version of Seamless Studio!
